Database Facts

Library databases allow you to find:
  • College level research
  • Credible information from articles in journals/magazines/newspapers
  • Reference information (i.e. entries from Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, etc.)
  • Books & other documents
  • Full-text, scholarly articles
Library databases provide the following types of information:

Databases provide citation information about items they index. A citation typically consists of:

  1. Author's Name
  2. Title of Article
  3. Source (i.e. title of the journal/magazine/newspaper)
  4. Publisher
  5. Date of Publication
  6. Abstract (brief summary of the article)
  7. Full-text (the entire article)
