Technology Services
Whether you need to borrow a laptop or iPad, use a webcam, access public computers, scan and print documents, record a podcast, or simply charge your device, the library has the technology to help you create, innovate, and complete your work.
Library-Use Technology Only
Some equipment and tools, such as computers with assistive technology and the laptop vending machine, are available for use exclusively within the library during your visit.
Electronic Devices for Check-Out
Current Southern University students can check out laptops, iPads, webcams, and hotspots. Electronic devices cannot be renewed online, students are required to renew the item at the Ask Here Desk, located on the 1st floor of the library.
What You Need:
- A valid student ID
- A completed Electronic Devices Lending Agreement form
Devices can be checked out at the Ask Here Desk on the library’s 1st floor.
Printing and Scanning
The library provides convenient printing and scanning services. Print jobs can be sent from any library computer workstation and retrieved at copier machines on the following floors:
- 1st Floor: Copy Center
- 2nd Floor: Computer Labs
- 3rd Floor: Black Heritage Collection/ Camille Shade
