SU Digital Repository provides free, public access to the research and scholarship of Southern University's faculty, staff, and students. Through the internet, readers worldwide can access a range of content including, but not limited to:

  • Journal articles and manuscripts;
  • Conference proceedings, presentations and posters;
  • Data sets;
  • Theses and Dissertations;
  • Project reports;
  • Audio and video files
  • Administrative policy documents; and
  • University publications

Goal

The goal of the SU Digital Repository is to provide open, online access to the University's research and scholarship in an effort to preserve these works for future generations, and to promote a new model of scholarly communication.

Benefits to a Digital Repository

  • Institutional value- A digital repository can preserve a record of Southern University and A & M College institutional history and research that include not only scholarly articles, but also reports, working papers, data sets, conference proceedings, and other intellectual outputs.
  • Promotional opportunities and visibility- Depositing scholarly material in SU Digital Repository is a way to become known to the international research community. Thus, providing access to research and education can enhance the profile of the university, and provide the public with an understanding of what the university does.
